About This Class

Join James Earls on this one-day immersive workshop on Saturday, 16/05/26. Designed for movement therapists who want to refine their understanding of how the human body truly moves.

Understanding the Anatomy of Movement bridges anatomical knowledge with practical movement observation, helping you develop a clearer, more accurate lens for assessing and guiding movement in your clients.

Participants will explore the overall structural blueprint of the human body and how form supports function. You’ll learn to use precise anatomical and biomechanical terminology to describe movement with confidence and clarity, enhancing both professional communication and clinical reasoning. The workshop also examines how muscles and fascia work cooperatively during different types of actions, highlighting coordinated patterns rather than isolated parts.

Through clear explanations and applied examples, this workshop supports a deeper appreciation of anatomy as a living, dynamic system—one that informs more effective, responsive, and intelligent movement practice.

By the end of the day, participants will:

Understand the foundational anatomical organisation of the human body.

Use correct and consistent terminology to describe movement.

Recognise how muscles and fascia interact during varied movement actions.

Apply anatomical insights to improve movement observation and therapeutic decision-making.

This is the workshop that we all should have had at the start of our training journey.

WORKSHOP BENEFITS:

You will come away with a much wider view of how and why the human body is arranged the way it is.

You will have a clear vocabulary that empowers communication with other professionals and improves your ability to see the anatomy of movement.

You will expand your experience of anatomy beyond the textbook and into the real world.

PREVIOUS ATTENDEE FEEDBACK/QUOTES:

Laura H. -  I thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt so much - it was exactly what I needed to avoid feeling stale at work after a long period of doing more or less the same thing. You really engaged and inspired me and helped me to see things in the body that I couldn't previously see. It's not just your content but your wonderful teaching style and presence that makes the courses what they are.

Al M. - I really loved the seminar, it was a beautiful look at synthesized movement, opened my eyes to a few important new thoughts. It totally makes sense. And as someone who has taught cont. ed courses for AIS, I totally enjoyed your style and delivery of information.
